Vice President
Scott is a Certified Safety Professional
and has a Master of Science Degree in
Risk Control. He came to Midwest Safety
Counselors in 1999 after working on the
East Coast as a Safety Director and
Corporate Auditor in the Chemical and
Paper Products Industry. He is focused
and committed to supporting all
customers in both the growing sales and
consulting sides of the business. Scott
is also a state certified Firefighter
and EMT serving the City of Woodbury. |
John Bestman
Senior
Safety Professional
John has a Bachelor of Science
degree in Environmental Technology
with over ten years of experience in the
fields of Industrial Hygiene and
Environmental Health and Safety. John’s
current focus is the support of our
customers in the petrochemical industry
as an Safety Professional and IH
Specialist. His background and
experience in industrial hygiene
monitoring and ability to develop
effective solutions to safety and health
challenges has proven to be a valuable
resource to both Midwest Safety
Counselors and our customers. |
Mike Rhode, CSP

Senior
Safety Professional
Mike is a Certified Safety
Professional with well over ten years of
experience. He leads our quality team of
Safety Professionals and Technicians at
our largest petrochemical customer. His
extensive background in the field of occupational safety and health allows
Midwest Safety Counselors the ability to
provide and execute high level solutions
to the various challenges encountered in
this field. |
Devin Boushek
M.S.
Safety Professional
Devin has a Master of Science degree in
Environmental Health and Safety and a
Bachelors degree in Microbiology. After
spending a couple years supporting
contractor safety at our largest
petrochemical customer in Minnesota, Devin is
currently taking the lead on
coordinating contractor safety at a
petrochemical facility located in Port
Arthur, Texas. |
Jared Anderson M.S.
Safety Professional
Jared graduated from the
University of Minnesota - Duluth with a
Masters Degree in Environmental Health
and Safety. He joined our group after
working for Minnesota OSHA as an
Industrial Hygienist. His experience and
credentials as an OSHA Certified
Industrial Hygienist will allow Midwest
Safety to continue to offer our
customers to the highest level of
professional service. Jared will be
focusing on our customers in the
petrochemical and energy industries. |
Glenn Petersen
Safety Representative
Glenn joined Midwest
Safety Counselors after gaining
experience in the area of construction
safety with a Minnesota-based civil and
electrical contractor. Recently Glenn
was located on the East Coast focusing
on field safety and auditing support in
heavy construction and is currently
supporting contractor safety for our
largest petrochemical customer. |
Laura Lawless M.S.
Safety Professional
Laura has a Master of Science Degree in
Environmental Health & Safety from the
University of Minnesota-Duluth. Laura
was a lead consultant with MSC in the
late 1990's and has rejoined out team
having most recently serving as a
Director for the American Red Cross.
Laura's specialty is the development of
written EH&S programs and the design of
training modules. Laura serves as a
resource for a large variety of our
customer base with an emphasis on our
clients in the Alternative Fuels/Ethanol
Industry. |
Kyle Baker
Safety Representative
Kyle joined
Midwest Safety after working several
years as a Safety Manager for
California-based inspection contractor.
His safety experience and relevant
training certifications in construction
and refinery settings are a great
foundation for his current role with
Midwest Safety. Kyle's focus areas are
field audits, training, and incident
investigations for our a petrochemical
customer in North Pole, Alaska. |
Jason Creaser M.S.
Safety Professional
Jason graduated from the
University of Wisconsin - Stout with a
Masters Degree in Risk Control. Along
with his educational background and
experience in the field of Occupational
Safety & Health, Jason served in Iraq
with the US National Guard during
Operation Iraqi Freedom taking on
leadership roles in conducting raids and
leading convoys. Jason is currently
focused on our customers in the
petrochemical industry. |

David graduated from
Southeastern Oklahoma State University
with a Bachelors Degree in Occupational
Safety and Health. He joined Midwest
Safety recently after serving as a
Safety Director in both the mining and
construction industries. Currently,
David is supporting one of our customers
in heavy construction on the East Coast
as a Site Safety Representative
providing project EH&S oversight. |

Services Technician
Peggy brought years of experience in the
management and facilitation of drug
testing services when she joined the MSC
team. Currently, Peggy oversees the
contractor orientation and training
process, administers
drug testing and performs other
specialized services for our customers
including respirator fit testing and the
management of training databases. |
Rita Girgen
Services Technician
Rita administers drug testing and other
specialized services for our customers
including qualitative and quantitative
respirator fit testing as well as
customer service and product support.
She currently is a high school
volleyball head coach and has been
coaching for over ten years. |
Adam Petersen
Services Technician
Adam recently joined our team as a
certified gas monitor services and repair
technician. He also administers drug
testing and other
specialized services for our customers
including qualitative and quantitative respirator fit testing and the
management of training databases. |

Kelly Rykel
Sales Territory Manager - Minnesota
Kelly has a Bachelors of Arts degree in
Public Administration from Hamline
University. She has over a dozen years
of industrial sales experience including
10 years specializing in Occupational
Health and Safety. As a former Inside
Sales Manager, Kelly's product knowledge
and customer service skills make her a
huge asset in MSC's drive to serve it's
Minnesota customer base. |
Chuck Rogness
Sales Territory Manager - Iowa
Chuck came to Midwest Safety Counselors
with over 25 years of experience in
sales. His product knowledge and
customer service skills have helped
Midwest Safety rapidly develop and grow
the Iowa market. He has also been an
excellent mentor and resource for the
rest of our sales staff. |
Jamie Herman
Inside Sales Coordinator
Jamie has a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Business Administration and several
years of sales and customer service
experience. She recently joined Midwest Safety
to help support inside sales and
technical services. Jamie's focus areas will include
inside sales and product support as well
as our core services such as respirator
fit testing, drug/alcohol screening
services, and gas monitor technical
support. |
Kasha McLay
Sales Manager
Kasha has a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Communications Studies from the
University of Minnesota. She is focused
on managing all aspects of sales
including serving our customers' product
needs. Her
customer service skills and
strong work ethic have allowed us to
continue to provide excellent support to
our existing customers as well as
attracting new ones. |
